Spc. Noble Gahimer, a native of Cook, Wash., assigned to 425 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, center, gets a welcome-home hug from a friend as he and approximately 500 other soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division returned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, after a 10-month deployment to Afghanistan. They were welcomed home during a short ceremony at Buckner Physical Fitness Center then reunited with their families. Nearly 2,300 soldiers have returned home so far, and approximately 1,200 are scheduled to arrive within the next few weeks.
