Sgt. Angel Ortiz, a member of the Army Reserve's 335th Medical Company, designs combat moulage by using clay and gelatin to create the effect of an exposed sternum on a mannequin during Regional Medic at Fort McCoy, Wis., July 17, 2021. The moulage will be utilized by the Medical Readiness and Training Command's effects and enablers team to simulate combat injuries on mannequins and role-players during the hundreds of training scenarios that challenge medics tactically and technically during WAREX 86-21-03, a 15-day Combat Support Training Exercise that ensures Army Reserve units and Soldiers are trained and ready to deploy and bring capable, combat-ready, and ready-now units in support of the Army and our joint partners anywhere in the world. The Medical Readiness and Training Command executes Regional Medic as part of the Army Reserve Medical Command's larger mission to provide trained, equipped, and combat ready units and medical personnel which are ready now to support the total force on the battlefields of today and tomorrow.
