PACIFIC OCEAN (July 31, 2021) Members of U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) 107 and Sailors assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), ride in a 7-meter rigid-hull inflatable boat during an Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI) drill. Jackson is deployed in support of the OMSI program, a Secretary of Defense program leveraging Department of Defense assets transiting the region to increase the Coast Guard’s maritime domain awareness, ultimately supporting its maritime law enforcement operations in Oceania.
