20210812-N-CE120-1004 KWAJALEIN, Marshall Islands (August 12, 2021) Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Jonathan Velasco, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Marshall Islands, installs a new starter in an 11k forklift in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. The U.S. Navy Seabees in Marshall Islands are preparing for several projects, including a sidewalk for the local church, repairing the local bank’s fence, and building a two-story police substation. NMCB-5 is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific, strengthening our network of allies and partners, and providing general engineering and civil support to joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, California, NMCB-5 has 10 detail sites deployed throughout the U.S. and Indo-Pacific area of operations.
