The Tres Rios Phase III Flow Regulating Wetlands, built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, received the 2012 Crescordia award from the Valley Forward Association in the Site Development and Landscape: Public Sector category. As part of Phase III, the District removed invasive plants along the river in order to help bring back a riparian corridor populated by more native vegetation.
