Heavy equipment operators, contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Memphis District, emplaced iron sheet pilings on the levee adjacent to the Cockleburr Slough Ditch in Greene County, Ark. This important step protects the levee and maintains a dry work area. At the same time, construction crews replace an underground culvert, which will improve drainage and work to mitigate flood risk.
