PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 19, 2021) Culinary Specialist 1st Class Jermie Harris, from Baltimore, Md., assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), raises his right hand as he swears into the Navy by reaffirms his oath of enlistment during his reenlistment ceremony on board an MH-60S Sea Hawk, assigned to the ‘Wildcards’ of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23. The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats.
