Passenger vans wait on a Mat Sinking Unit (MSU) barge near the Vicksburg Harbor in Vicksburg, Mississippi, prior to the unit’s departure on Sept. 14, 2021. The vans will be limited to half capacity and take crewmembers to and from job sites along the Mississippi River. The MSU briefly paused revetment operations to implement enhanced COVID-19 safety precautions to help ensure the health of the nearly 300 crewmembers before continuing the mission.
