211006-N-FA490-1003 APRA HARBOR, GUAM (Oct. 06, 2021) Quartermaster 1st Class Daniel Hernandez, from San Antonio, Texas, instructs Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Brian Meullo, from Yigo, Guam, on raising the Ensign on the starboard bridge wing of the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) during routine operations. Jackson, part of Destroyer Squadron Seven, is on a rotational deployment, is operating in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of free and open Indo-Pacific region.
