Anthony Aldinger, a team lead with Team Rubicon, supports inventory management and movement during the opening day of the storefront that provides donated essential items to Afghan evacuees at no charge at Fort Bliss’ Doña Ana Complex, New Mexico, Oct. 4, 2021. Aldinger is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has served with the organization for almost two years. The storefront operation assisted over 600 evacuees during its inaugural day. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures.
