Christine Cuicchi, Navy DSRC Director, and Bryan Comstock, Chief Technologist, discuss the 290,304 CPUs and 12.8 petaFLOPS of peak supercomputing capability which make the HPE Cray EX system NARWHAL the largest unclassified supercomputer in the Department of Defense. The Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary.
