Defense Department Support to FEMA COVID-19

U.S. Navy Ensign Matthew Cooper, left, and Lt. j.g Joshua Ruiz, right, both assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, San Diego, use a chair lift to transfer Lt. Kristen Harrison, center, assigned to NMRTC, Balboa, California, onto a bed during safe patient handling training at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center during the COVID response operations in Spokane, Washington, Oct. 17, 2021. The medical team trained throughout the day using multiple patient devices to safely and securely move individuals onto their bed. Military personnel assigned to NMRTC deployed from San Diego, in support of the continued Department of Defense COVID response operations to help communities in need. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the whole-of-government COVID response. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
