Maj. Christopher Royal, who serves as the command systems integrator at 1st Theater Sustainment Command's operational command post at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, first deployed to Kuwait as a 19-year-old private three decades ago in the First Gulf War. The major, who deployed to the camp with the Fort Bragg, North Carolina, based 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment, said he appreciates not having to sleep in a hole in the ground like he did during his first tour.
