U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Justin Gelpke, a patrol supervisor with Provost Marshal’s Office, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, provides security during a notional, active-shooter scenario as part of Exercise Constant Vigilance 2021 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 21, 2021. First responders and camp personnel aboard MCB Camp Butler eliminated the simulated threat and were able to tend to all casualties in the area. Exercise Constant Vigilance is an annual exercise that prepares U.S. Forces, the local and prefectural government, civilians, and emergency personnel to work side-by-side in response to force protection, anti-terrorism, and installation breaches.
