211021-M-PO848-1013 JAZIRAT AL GHURAB ISLAND, Saudi Arabia (Oct. 21, 2021) U.S. Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and members of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces fly aboard a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), 11th MEU, during a simulated amphibious assault as part of exercise Indigo Defender 21 at Jazirat al Ghurab Island, Saudi Arabia, Oct. 21. Indigo Defender 21 is a capstone bilateral maritime exercise between Royal Saudi Naval Forces and U.S. Naval Forces Central Command to enhance interoperability and strengthen our capacity to maintain regional maritime security and stability.
