Sgt. 1st Class Scott Smothers of Divernon, Illinois, receives the Instructor of the Quarter Award from the 129th Regiment Commandant, Command Sgt. Maj. Mary Dixon, during his retirement ceremony. Smothers retired after more than 24 years of Army service. Smothers retired as a quality assurance operations NCO and 92G food service instructor with the Illinois Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 129th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) based on Camp Lincoln in Springfield.
