The P-28 Heavy Rescue Truck from Arnold Air Force Base Fire and Emergency Services, number 9515, pictured, was transferred to Strawberry Point Fire and Rescue in Strawberry Point, Iowa, over the summer through the General Services Administration program that allows organizations outside of the federal government to apply for excess federal assets. The truck had reached the end of its useful life at Arnold due to reaching 20 years of service on the base fleet and was slated for disposition when it was placed on the GSA asset list.
