A truck formerly used by Arnold Air Force Base Fire and Emergency Services was acquired over the summer and repurposed by Strawberry Point Fire and Rescue in Strawberry Point, Iowa. The truck was transferred from Arnold to Strawberry Point Fire and Rescue after the Iowa organization applied for it through the General Services Administration program that allows organizations outside of the federal government to apply for excess federal assets. The truck had reached the end of its useful life at Arnold due to reaching 20 years of service on the base fleet and was slated for disposition when it was placed on the GSA asset list.
