211108-N-FA490-1019 SURABAYA, INDONESIA (Nov. 8, 2021) Sailors assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23 and the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), render honors to the Tentera Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL) Martadinata-class frigate KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai (332) from the flight deck of Jackson, during Cooperation Afloat and Readiness and Training (CARAT) Indonesia 2021. In its 27th year, the CARAT series is comprised of multinational exercises, designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
