KURE, Japan (Nov. 24, 2021) Military Sealift Command civil service mariner John Dunn, chief engineer of the Emory S. Land-class submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), discusses the capabilities of using an international fuel connection to Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force sailors assigned to the Soryu-class submarine JS Sekiryu (SS 508) during an exercise brief, Nov. 24. Frank Cable is moored at the JMSDF Kure Naval Base, Japan, and is on patrol conducting expeditionary maintenance and logistics in support of national security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
