NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins, International Space Station Crew 1 member, shows his astronaut socks to LEARN D.C. first grade students during a meet and greet on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., Nov. 19, 2021. Three astronauts from ISS Crew 1 read a book about space to the students during their visit. During their visit, the astronauts interacted with LEARN D.C. students, watched a demonstration by the United States Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team, and answered questions from a group of JBAB Airmen with the intent to connect with and inspire future generations.
