MAYPORT, Fla. - (Dec. 3, 2021) – Rear Adm. Jim Aiken, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, accompanied by Fleet Command Master Chief Robert Florentino gives brief remarks after awarding the Inter-American Naval Telecommunications Network Medal (IANTN) to staff members at U.S. 4th Fleet headquarters, Dec. 3, 2021. The IANTN Medal is awarded to Sailors who demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, discipline, esprit de corps, and proficiency in the field of naval communications during their tour of duty. Established in 1962, IANTN now includes 19 countries who participate in maintaining a permanent link among naval authorities of the Americas. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet serves as a trusted partner for Caribbean, Central and South America maritime forces leading to improved unity, security and stability.
