HONOLULU (Dec. 7, 2021) — Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russell L. Smith offers flowers in honor of fallen service members at the USS Arizona Memorial after a ceremony in remembrance of the 80th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Dec. 7, 2021. MCPON Smith is in Hawaii for the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, a reinterment ceremony for unidentified remains from USS Oklahoma (BB 37), the commissioning of USS Daniel Inouye (DDG 118) and to meet with service members, DoD civilians and their families to discuss issues affecting the community.
