This white pine tree, shown Dec. 2, 2021, was documented Forestry Technician Tim Parry with the Forestry Office of the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division Natural Resources Branch at Fort McCoy, Wis. The large white pine tree is located along the La Crosse River in Pine View Recreation Area near Pine View Campground at Fort McCoy. The tree is estimated to be more than a century old and is believed to the largest in the recreation area and one of the oldest and largest on the installation.
