U.S. Marine Corps LCpl Adam Muhtar, a data systems administrator with 7th Communication Battalion, III Marine Information Group (MIG), III Marine Expeditionary Force, is currently serving in the G-6 supporting 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade’s (MEB) exercise Yama Sakura 81. His role is to assist in maintaining the various networks that the MEB uses for communication in command and control.
“This is my first exercise in the fleet,” Muhtar said, “and I am learning a lot about my job and how the MEB and MIG work. Seeing how we can coordinate with the Japanese military, and what we can do in the region, makes me realize how important it is for us to be out here.”
Muhtar is a native of Aliso Viejo, California, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2020 (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl Carmeron Carawan).
