Powered by Innovation - The Wright Brothers
Where would the Air Force be without powered flight? We are the world's greatest Air Force because of those who have gone before us. Innovative people like Wilbur and Orville Wright. On December 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers made four brief flights with the first powered aircraft at Kitty Hawk. This event ushered in 118 years of aviation innovation.
Their determination to reach into the sky set a precedent that, quite literally, the sky is the limit. Airmen have been pushing boundaries since the inception of manned flight, and now we can provide airpower - anytime, anywhere at a movement's notice. None of this would be possible if not for the pioneering of the Wright Brothers.
