Powered by Airpower: U.S. Army Air Corps & U.S. Army Air Forces
The Air Force would not be possible if it were not for the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Army Air Forces demonstrating the value of airpower. After World War I, aviation became increasingly important for modern warfare.
These two components acted as the aerial combat arm for the U.S. Army. They saw trailblazers across the components who would lead the future #AirForce or establish doctrines and Air Force Heritage on display now.
These components showcased the invaluable resource of what military aviation can bring to warfare with innovative systems and operations like the oxygen and cabin pressurization systems in aircraft, and operations like the Doolittle Raid.
