U.S. Air Force Col. Terence Taylor examines agricultural maps surrounding Cannon Air Force Base with Art Schaap, Highland Dairy owner, and John Kern, Clean Water Partnership Cannon executive director, Dec. 13, 2021, at the Highland Dairy in Clovis, New Mexico. Col. Taylor visited Schaap at his dairy in order to gain better understanding and perspective about exactly how the farm was impacted by PFAS, which the Air Force Civil Engineer Center reported to the New Mexico Environment Department in 2018. AFCEC is conducting an ongoing PFAS remedial investigation in order to find solutions for treating current water supply and preventing future contamination on and around Cannon AFB.
