Brig. Gen. Paul Craft (right), Commanding General of Task Force Pickett, and Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey Wolan (left), 23rd Marine Regiment Sgt. Maj., serve Christmas dinner, including maple glazed ham, herb roasted turkey, and warm salted caramel bread pudding, to service members on Fort Pickett, Virginia, Dec. 25, 2021. Approximately 1,300 service members are spending the holidays on Fort Pickett in support of Operation Allies Welcome. The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
