Navy Lt. Alfonza Willis, a native of Valdosta, Ga., completes the 13th French Foreign Legion's 25th annual Grand Bara Run, a 15k (9.3 miles) race in Djibouti's Grand Bara Desert, Dec. 13. Willis is with Camp Lemonier's Emergency Medical Facility, and finished with a time of 57:28.974, putting him in 66th place out of a field of more than 3,000 participants. He was the only member of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa to finish the race in less than an hour.
