U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Timothy E. Gowen, adjutant general for Maryland, is briefed about joint training and in-procressing operations on Jan. 7, 2022, at the Dundalk Readiness Center, Dundalk, Maryland. Hundreds of Maryland National Guard Soldiers and Airmen participated in training hosted by the Maryland Department of Health on coaching self swab COVID-19 test, patient registration, and proper usage of personal protective equipment. At the direction of Governor Larry Hogan, up to 1,000 MDNG members will be activated to assist state and local health officials with their response to rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
