Staff Sgt. Frank Holmes was killed in action on Dec. 27, 1944 near Bastogne, Belgium, after six months of combat and four years of "doing what he had to do." Current 35th Infantry Division Chief of Staff, Col. Christopher Mickan had the honor of speaking about the service and sacrifice of Staff Sgt. Frank Holmes.
