Ms. Gina Petrino, center, a contracting procurement analyst with the Far East Engineer District, in Korea, and forward-deployed with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Transatlantic Expeditionary District, receives the prestigious Steel Order of the de Fleury medal. Col. Kenneth Reed, left, district commander, and senior enlisted advisor Sgt. Maj. Jun Tomagan, present the medal to Petrino at a ceremony held at the TAE headquarters, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, on 22 Jan.
The de Fleury Medal is a symbol of leadership and devotion to the engineering career field presented by the U.S. Army Engineer Association and only presented to a few Soldiers and Civilians every year.
Petrino received her medal in recognition of her service to the Defense Security Cooperation Management Office’s efforts during Operation FREEDOM'S SENTINEL and Operation ALLIED REFUGEE. Petrino was presented the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Medal from DSCMO as well, both being presented by senior TAE leadership, as Petrino winds down her tour with the Expeditionary District.
