Chief Warrant Officer 2 DeBrandon Perryman, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot from Memphis, Tenn., assigned to B Company, 2-158 Assault Helicopter Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, recreates a historic photo of Warrant Officer Raymond Wilson, assigned 12th Combat Aviation Group during the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was the first American war in which Black Americans served as Army helicopter pilots in combat operations. Mr. Wilson retired from the Army after 22 years of service, during which he served as an instructor pilot and aeromedical evacuation (MEDEVAC) pilot. (U.S. Army graphic illustration by Capt.
