U.S. Army Soldiers attending the Basic Leader Course at the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Hawaii watch as a Fellow Student delivers a class on a given Soldier Skill for a grade.
Soldiers attend BLC to gain knowledge and skills necessary to lead a team of their own Soldiers. To officially graduate the course, the Soldiers must pass several assessments testing their ability to apply what they've learned during the course. One assessment they must pass is the "Conduct Individual Training Assessment". They must train a group of their peers on a given task and then assess them on their ability to perform the task. To pass, they must fully prepare and deliver the training effectively. Failure to prepare or lack of understanding of the subject will cause them to earn a failing grade.
