Two giant meters, probably more than 80 years old, sleep deep within the interior of the Sepulveda Dam during dry weather March 22 in Van Nuys, California. The meters measure the depth of rising water. The dam functions automatically based on the level of the Los Angeles River. The dam underwent a hydraulic steel structure inspection March 22-23.
