ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 6, 2022) - Sailors assigned to the Expeditionary Sea Base USS Hershel "Woody" Williams (ESB 4) lower approximately 6,000 kilograms of seized contraband into a rigid-hull inflatable boat for transport to the Cabo Verdean law enforcement authorities, April 6, 2022. The joint U.S. and Cabo Verdean team, with support from the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre - Narcotics (MAOC-N), interdicted one of the largest trans-oceanic drug shipments. Hershel "Woody" Williams is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national interests and security in Europe and Africa.
