Nick Jennings, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) biologist, holds a Florida burrowing owl at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, April 8, 2022. MacDill works alongside the FWC to protect wildlife and preserve natural resources on the base. This bird, which was held at a wildlife rehabilitation center, was relocated to MacDill because the base is home to the only known remaining colonies of burrowing owls in the Tampa Bay area.
