Nick Jennings, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) biologist, inspects the wing of a Florida burrowing owl at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, April 8, 2022. This owl, which was held at a wildlife rehabilitation center, was relocated to MacDill because the base is home to the only known remaining colonies of burrowing owls in the Tampa Bay area. MacDill works alongside the FWC to protect wildlife and preserve natural resources on base. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Joshua Hastings)
