Cataldo simulated being a second casualty during the training exercise, which involved a teenager (simulated by a mannequin) who fell and was injured after climbing down into a facility. While climbing down to rescue the victim, Cataldo simulated also falling after slipping on a broken step, so other firefighters from his team had to complete the rescue.
