Alaska Army National Guardsmen with the 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion prepare to land UH-60L Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters in McGrath, Alaska, April 11, 2022. After refueling at the local airport, the Guardsmen will continue their route from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to Nome where the UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters will remain for Golf Company, Detachment 1, 2-211th GSAB to conduct annual training and aide in River Watch if needed this spring. Should there be significant flooding or other emergency in the vicinity, the Black Hawk helicopters will provide support as requested by the State.
