Maj. Gen. Michel M. Russell Sr., commanding general, 1st Theater Sustainment Command, recognizes Brig. Gen. Lance G. Curtis, commanding general, 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, ahead of a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, May 4, 2022. Russell presented Curtis an award for serving as the deputy commanding general for 1st TSC in his tour of duty leading the 1st TSC operational command post. During the ceremony, 3rd ESC transferred the mission to the Birmingham, Alabama, based 135th Expeditionary Sustainment Command.
