According to the National Park Service, 1.8 million people attended the 56th Presidential Inauguration, with frigid afternoon temperature of 28 degrees Fahrenheit and wind chills in the mid-teens. Nearly 9,300 National Guard troops joined thousands of service members from all components provided security and operational supporting the 56th Presidential Inauguration.
