Army National Guard Soldiers quickly work to assist medical aid to an attendee struggling with symptoms of hypothermia during at the 56th Presidential Inauguration, Jan. 20, 2009, in Washington, D.C. According to the National Park Service, 1.8 million people attended the 56th Presidential Inauguration, with frigid afternoon temperature of 28 degrees Fahrenheit and wind chills in the mid-teens. Nearly 9,300 National Guard troops joined thousands of service members from all components provided security and operational supporting the 56th Presidential Inauguration.
