Ruth Jones (Center) and Liza Walters (Left) shake hands with a pilot after returning from Washington D.C. for the all-women honor's flight. Jones, 97, is the only WWII veteran that took the trip. She says this was inspiring seeing all the women who came after her time in service. Walters, the flight director of the Villages Honor Flight Program, says the goal of this flight was to bring awareness to female soldiers and the impact they have had on the military. Jones agrees and said, "Id' like people to know that women contributed a lot, they were a vital part of the service,” said Jones.
