Master Sgt. Emelita Pineda spots Senior Airman Ethan So, while loading cargo onto pallet during Valiant Shield 2022, June 8, 2022 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Both Pineda and So are Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 44th Aerial Port Squadron and during VS 22 are training to do additional jobs outside of their core Air Force Specialty Code allowing the Air Force to deploy smaller groups to forward operating sites and forward operating bases, also known as the Multi-Capable Airmen concept. VS 22 is a biennial, U.S. only, joint field training exercise focused on integrations between U.S. Forces through detecting, locating, tracking, and engaging adversary units at sea, in the air in space, on land, and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
