12 CAB Soldiers visit World War II sites in Belgium and Luxembourg

Capt. Joshua Corey, human resources officer in charge, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, left, briefs Soldiers on their first tour stop at the Battle of Lanzerath Ridge near the village of Lanzerath, Belgium, June 9, 2022. At this spot in the woods, an 18 Soldier reconnaissance platoon held off an entire German battalion of about 500 paratroopers for just under 20 hours. 12 CAB is among other units assigned to V Corps, America's Forward Deployed Corps in Europe. They work alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat-ready forces, execute joint and multinational training exercises, and retain command and control for all rotational and assigned units in the European Theater.
