A F-18E Super Hornet belonging to U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Squadron 25 takes to the skies for a training sortie as part of the Red Flag 22-2 exercise at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, June 16, 2022. The VFA-25 squadron, known as the ”Fist of the Fleet”, has nearly an 80 year lineage with the U.S. Navy and has been utilizing the carrier-capable F-18E Strike Eagle since 1999. Red Flag-Alaska is the only exercise of its kind that provides allied nations and joint-partner forces the opportunity to see mock combat and high operational working tempo in a simulated deployed environment.
