Members of 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), 3rd Marine Expeditionary Forces, 1-1 Air Defense Artillery, and the Japanese Ground Self Defense Forces 15th NBC Unit conducted a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) equipment and capabilities exercise at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 17-20, 2022. The exercise focused on CBRN reconnaissance, site exploitation and sampling, and emergency decontamination for both troops and vehicles. The event increased interoperability between the military forces, demonstrating the highest levels of readiness to respond at a moment’s notice to any threat, crisis, or humanitarian disaster in the Indo-Pacific region.
