Carla G. Atkinson expressed how honored she is to be inducted into the Fort Jackson Hall of Fame during a luncheon June 30 at the NCO Club. Though given the opportunity to thank family and friends as part of her acceptance speech, she instead spoke about the many programs and initiatives offered through the Fort Jackson Army Community Services that help better the lives of Soldiers, civilians, retirees and their Family members. “I’m not going to waste this time not singing the praises of Army Community Services,” she said. “That program is unbelievable in the services it offers to you. (ACS) are a good group of professionals, they know what they are doing and they care about people.”
